Chestnut Hill

This is a contemporary three-bedroom home built on an arboriculturally sensitive and difficult sloping site.  The house was built into a steep bank and supported by curved retaining walls with structural waterproofing. A blend of traditional and modern methods and materials were used to create a visually stunning property.

The house has been built very much with a passive house type of design and construction and has achieved a very low passive rating.  The passive house concept maximises natural sources of energy, reducing its ecological footprint, resulting in very low energy buildings that have little or no reliability on mechanical or electrical systems.
