Meet the team

Workshop

Ricky Nelmes

Ricky joined the company from school in September 1997 as a bench joiner apprentice. During his training he achieved 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the Institute of Carpenters Apprentice of the Year competition and was also runner up in the Apprentice of the Year Daily Mirror competition. He now shares the responsibility of the day-to-day running of the Workshop, including obtaining work, ensuring it is carried out efficiently to high quality of workmanship.

Nigel Galliott

Nigel qualified with distinction as a City & Guilds bench joiner in 1992 gaining, on the way Stroud College Apprentice of the Year in 1990 and a pass with merit in the Institute of Carpenters examination. He joined the Company in October 1995 as a bench joiner and now shares the responsibility of running the workshop with Ricky. Whilst he is an expert in the manufacture of all purpose made joinery, his particular specialty lies in the fabrication of stairs.

Tom Dyer

As an experienced bench joiner, Tom started his employment with Chappell & Dix Ltd in April 1999 and continues to be a valued tradesman within the workshop

Tom Lock

When Tom joined the company in 2000 he started work on site as a labourer but soon realised that he wanted to train as a qualified joiner. He successfully completed his apprenticeship and continues to gain experience as an expert tradesman in all aspects of purpose made joinery.

Glen Davies

Glen joined the company in May 2003 Gaining work experience before commencing his apprenticeship in September of that year. He gained second place in the National Institute of Carpenters awards and is a further valued member of the workshop team.

Dan Salter

Dan completed his apprenticeship in September 2008 and is continuing his skills by gaining experience in the workshop.

Greg Morgan

As the newest recruit, Greg is currently completing his first year of his apprenticeship and is proving to be an excellent student who will hopefully remain with the company for many years gaining experience and becoming an essential member of the team.
